We’ve created a six part afternoon series of skill building classes for kids ages 8-14 where we’ll teach the fundamentals of single elements of cake, cookie and cake pop decorating. Register for just one or for all six workshops in the series to learn the basics, build technique, or sharpen your skills. All tools and food materials will be provided to use for each workshop.
All registrants are also eligible for a 20% discount on all decorating tools in the studio store.

Workshop Descriptions:

Cake Icing Basics
In this workshop, we’ll explore the elements of American Buttercream icing, how to properly use an offset spatula and turntable to ice a cake. We’ll demonstrate different icing methods and basic cake finishes. Registrants will practice on a 6″ two layer cake to take home.

Buttercream Piping Basics
In this workshop, we’ll learn how to set up a piping bag with couplers and piping tips, how to properly fill and hold a piping bag, pipe basic shells, rosettes, lines, and writing. Registrants will practice on 6 cupcakes to take home.

Buttercream Flowers
In this workshop, we’ll learn how to create a variety of buttercream flowers including the rose, daisy, mum, and peony. Registrants will practice on 6 cupcakes to take home.

Fondant Flowers
In this workshop, we’ll create a variety of flowers from rolled fondant including roses, daisies, cherry blossoms, and tulips. Registrants will decorate 6 cupcakes to take home.

Decorated Cookies
In this workshop, we’ll explore a variety royal icing techniques including outlining, flooding and piping details. Registrants will practice on 6 vanilla sugar cookies to take home.

Cake Pop Basics
In this workshop, we’ll learn about the two different types of cake pops ( formed and baked). Registrants will dip and decorate 6 cake pops to take home.

Registration Information:
The cost of these workshop is $25 per week. Choose individual classes or register for ALL SIX WEEKS for $125, a savings of $25!
NJ State Sales tax has been added to the ticket total.

Seats will be filled on a first registered, first served basis with preference going to students registered for all six classes.

Policies

This series is recommended for children ages 8-14. Please do not register younger children for this series.
Drop off for registered participants is permitted. Parents are not required to stay on the studio premises, but are certainly welcome to wait in our lounge area.

This Skill Building Series will be repeated with weekend dates in Spring 2018 and again in Summer 2018.
